We use citric acid which is found in lemon juice, the carbonic acid found in carbonated drinks, the sulfuric acid found in detergents and soap, the benzoic acid used for preservation of food.
The bases which we use are sodium hydroxide used in soaps and detergents, sodium bicarbonate used as the baking powder in many recipes, calcium hydroxide in limewater and cement.
