Answer:

(7, 220) and (-1, -20)   (x,y)

Step-by-step explanation:

put value of y in eq 2

30x + 10 = 5x² - 25

5x² - 25 - 30x -10 =0

5x² -30x -35 =0

x² -6x -7 =0  by dividing 5 on both sides

quadratic eq ax²+bx+c=0

a=1, b= -6, c -7

use quadratic formula to find value of x

x= (-b+-√b^2-4ac) / 2a

by putting values of a, b and c

x= (6 ± 8)/2

x= (6 + 8)/2  and x= (6 - 8)/2

x= 14/2=7            x= -2/2= -1

so, x= 7, -1

put values of x in eq 1

for x= 7

y= 30(7) + 10

y= 210 + 10

y= 220

now for x= -1

y= 30(-1) + 10

y= -30 + 10

y= -20

The width of the figure below is 5 units. The perimeter of the figure is 18 units. What is the length of the figure in units?
marishachu [46]

if the figures perimeter is 18 units, and the width of the figure is 5 units. I am guessing the figure is a rectangle

where the width is 5 units, and 2 of the sides have 2 be the same 2 be a rectangle, than the width on each side is 10 units all together

18-10= 8

if the figure is a rectangle then that means there are 2 sides left of equal length so if we divide our current number (8) by 2 then we will have the length of each side (4)

8 divided by 2= 4

width= 5

length= 4
