We have to convert 3 kg to pounds .

We know , 1 kg is equal to 2.2 pounds .

So , mass of 3 kg in pounds is :

M=2.2\times 3\ pounds\\\\M=6.6\ pounds

Therefore , 6.6 pounds of pasta is preparing for dinner .
