Forces in a single plane can simply be added together to find the resultant force. They are both in the same direction so the signs are the same. Hence resultant force = 25 + 18 = 43N.

By Newton's 2nd Law of Motion (which, for constant mass, produces the relation F = ma), a = F/m = 43/45 = 0.95ms^-2 (2sf)

Since both horizontal forces are applied in the same direction:

Total = 25 N + 18 N = 43 N.

Since we are assuming a flat friction less floor, so there is no opposition to the 43N.

The 43 N acts in full effect, because there is no friction.

From:

Force, F = ma

Where m = mass, a = acceleration

43 N = 45 kg * a

45a = 43

a = 43/45

a = 0.9555...

a≈ 0.956 m/s²

Acceleration is ≈ 0.956 m/s²

A small remote-control car with a mass of 1.65 kg moves at a constant speed of v = 12.0 m/s in a vertical circle inside a hollow
Reil [10]

Answer:

N=63.69N

Explanation:

The normal force exerted on the car by the walls of the cylinder at the bottom of the vertical circle will be such that when substracted to the weight it must give the centripetal force, since at that point on the vertical F_{cp}=N-W=N-mg

We also know that the equation for the centripetal force is:

F_{cp}=ma_{cp}=\frac{mv^2}{r}

Mixing both equations we get:

N-mg=\frac{mv^2}{r}

N=mg+\frac{mv^2}{r}

Which for our values means:

N=(1.65Kg)(9.8m/s^2)+\frac{(1.65Kg)(12m/s)^2}{(5m)}=63.69N

How do I find net force when something has arrows all four directions with different N values for each?
Nimfa-mama [501]

In the vertical direction, take up to be positive and down to be negative. Then the net vertical force would be

5120 N - 4050 N = 1070 N

(it's positive, so the net vertical force is pointing upward)

In the horizontal direction, take right to be positive and left to be negative. Then the net horizontal force would be

950 N - 1520 N = -570 N

(negative means the net horizontal force points to the left)

So the net force on the balloon is the vector

F = (1070 N) i + (-570 N) j

(where i and j are the unit vectors in the horizontal and vertical directions, respectively)

The magnitude of the net force on the balloon is the magnitude of this vector:

F = √((1070 N)² + (-570 N)²)

F ≈ 1212 N

An air-filled pipe is found to have successive harmonics at 945 Hz , 1215 Hz , and 1485 Hz . It is unknown whether harmonics bel
Aleonysh [2.5K]

Answer:

L = 0.635m

Explanation:

This problem involves the concept of stationary waves in pipes. For pipes closed at one end,

The frequency f = nv/4L for n = 1,3,5....n

For pipes open at both ends

f = nv/2L for n = 1,2,3,4...n

Assuming the pipe is closed at one end and that velocity of sound is 343m/s in air. If we are right we will obtain a whole number for n.

The film solution can be found in the attachment below.
