Answer:

When water is heated above its boiling point without boiling, the process is called Superheating.

Explanation:

It is possible to heat a liquid beyond its boiling point yet the liquid will not boil. Superheating is can be carried out by heating a homogeneous substance such as very clean, uncontaminated water in a clean container, free of nucleation sites, while taking care not to disturb the liquid.

Lately, it has also been confirmed that superheating does occur in impure substances also.

Observe: Change the Surface area from Minimum to Maximum. You can imagine that a
NeX [460]

Answer:

Changing the surface area from minimum to maximum increases the number of reactants in a chemical reaction.

An increase in surface area of a solid reactant means more of its particles are exposed to attack by the other Particle. This results in an increased chance of collisions between reactant particles, so there are more collisions in any given time and the rate of reaction increases.

When the following solutions are mixed together, what precipitate (if any) will form? a. FeSO4(aq) 1 KCl(aq) b. Al(NO3)3(aq) 1 B
noname [10]

Answer: Precipitates form only in (b) (c) and (d) and these are Al(OH)_3 , CaSO_4 and NiS respectively.

Explanation: (a) The reaction will be:

FeSO_4(aq)+2KCl(aq)\rightarrow FeCl_2(aq)+K_2SO_4(aq)

The reaction will not take place as both the products are soluble and so no precipitate will form.

(b) The reaction will be:

2Al(NO_3)_3(aq)+3Ba(OH)_2(aq)\rightarrow 3Ba(NO_3)_2(aq)+2Al(OH)_3(s)

This reaction will take place as aluminum hydroxide is insoluble. So, the precipitate formed in this reaction is Al(OH)_3 .

(c) The reaction will be:

CaCl_2(aq)+Na_2SO_4(aq)\rightarrow 2NaCl(aq)+CaSO_4(s)

This reaction will take place as a precipitate of calcium sulfate(slightly soluble) will form.

(d) The reaction will be:

K_2S(aq)+Ni(NO_3)_2(aq)\rightarrow 2KNO_3(aq)+NiS(s)

This reaction will take place as NiS is insoluble. So, the precipitate formed in this reaction is NiS.

In Dna, guanine always forms hydrogen bonds with?
Serjik [45]

The DNA or deoxyribonucleic acid is composed of a pentose sugar, a base and phosphate group. The bases are adenine, thymine, cytosine and guanine. Guanine always forms hydrogen bonds with cytosine. Remember the statement “Apples in the Tree, Cars in the Garage”. The A stands for adenine and pairs with T-thymine then C – cytosine and G – guanine.
