Similarly, pOH is given by; pOH= −log[OH^-]. Hence, in a question where the concentration of hydroxide ion is given, we apply this formula to first obtain the pOH.

Also, we know that pH + pOH=14. This implies that, pH= 14 - pOH. Thus we obtain the pH of the solution from its hydroxide ion concentration by following all the steps listed above.
