Answer:

17√2 inches.

Step-by-step explanation:

Because the cut-out is a square the triangles are  made up of  angles

45-45-90 with each leg equal in length.

So the ratio of leg to hypotenuse  is 1:√2.

Therefore the side length = 34 / √2

= 34√2. / 2

= 17√2 inches.

Step-by-step explanation:

c^2= a^2 + b^2                  a=b

34^2= a^2 + a^2

1156=2a^2

a^2=1156/2

a^2=578

a=24.04

The side length is 24.04

Help having trouble, its quite easy.
EastWind [94]

I believe it's C because 15 with an exponent of 5 is 15 x 15 x 15 x 15 x 15.

So that's basically larger than 15 x 15 x 15 x 15.

Common sense.

Write a real world problem involving a proportional relationship. Explain how you know the relationship is proportional
n200080 [17]
A real world example of a proportional relationship are wages.

Proportional means that Y grows as X grows, and Y shrinks as X shrinks, and when Y is zero, X is zero. The only time they have to be the same number though is at zero.

An example of this in real life is the way that people make money, wages, let's use minimum wage.
When you work 0 hours, you make $0.
Working 1 hour means you made $7.25
and working 5 hours mean you've made $36.25. It's a linear equation that starts at the origin, that means it is proportional.

drug sniffing dogs must be 95% accurate in their responses because their handlers don't want them to miss durgs and also don't w
GenaCL600 [577]

Answer:

95% Confidence interval:  (0.8449,0.9951)

Step-by-step explanation:

We are given the following in the question:

Sample size, n = 50

Number of times the dog is right, x = 46

\hat{p} = \dfrac{x}{n} = \dfrac{46}{50} = 0.92

95% Confidence interval:

\hat{p}\pm z_{stat}\sqrt{\dfrac{\hat{p}(1-\hat{p})}{n}}

z_{critical}\text{ at}~\alpha_{0.05} = 1.96

Putting the values, we get:

0.92 \pm 1.96(\sqrt{\dfrac{0.92(1-0.92)}{50}})\\\\ = 0.92\pm 0.0751\\\\=(0.8449,0.9951)

(0.8449,0.9951) is the required 95% confidence interval for the proportion of times the dog will be correct.
