Here molecules of gas remains constant. If more pressure is applied to the piston, gaseous molecules will come closer to each other. Hence their volume decreases and density increases. Hope this helps you.

<u><em>The answer is D. </em></u>

The gas particles will hit the walls more frequently. Because more pressure is applied, the container will shrink in size. When this happens, the particles have less space to move and will hit the walls of the container more frequently, exerting more pressure.

how you could calculate a time step (dt) if you have a vector of accumulative distance (ie the distance keeps adding every step)
lakkis [162]

Answer:

dt = ds/dv.

Explanation:

to calculate the time step if you have a vector of accumulative distance and instanteneous velocity vector can be expressed bellow

solution

ds = dv/dt

divide the step distance by the instantaneous velocity you will get the time step.

that it

dt = ds/dv.

so to calculate the time step having a vector that keeps adding every step and speed at that moment is this dt = ds/dv.

If 56.5 m3 of a gas are collected at a pressure of 455 mm Hg, what volume will the gas occupy if the pressure is changed to 632
ExtremeBDS [4]

Assuming ideal conditions, Boyle's law says that

<em>P₁ V₁ </em>= <em>P₂</em> <em>V₂</em>

where <em>P₁ </em>and <em>V₁</em> are the initial pressure and temperature, respectively, and <em>P₂</em> and <em>V₂</em> are the final pressure and temperature.

So you have

(455 mm Hg) (56.5 m³) = (632 mm Hg) <em>V₂</em>

==>   <em>V₂</em> = (455 mm Hg) (56.5 m³) / (632 mm Hg) ≈ 40.7 m³

At 0.0 degrees Celsius, a wire cable is 410.0000 meters in length. When the temperature increased to 30.0 degrees Celsius, the w
zzz [600]

Answer: The coefficient of expansion for the wire 0.000028 (^oC)^{-1}.

Explanation:

Original length of the wire = L= 410.0000 m

Initial temperature =T_1=0.0^oC

Final Temperature = T_2=30.0^oC

Increase in Length of the wire = \Delta L=0.3444 m

\frac{\Delta L}{L}=\alpha _{L}\times \Delta T=\alpha _{L}\times (T_2-T_1)

\alpha _L=\frac{\Delta L}{L\times (T_2-T_1)}=\frac{0.3444 m}{410.0000 m\times (30.0^oC-0.0^oC)}

\alpha _L=0.000028 (^oC)^{-1}

The coefficient of expansion for the wire 0.000028 (^oC)^{-1}.
