Andrew makes $6 an hour plus $9 an hour for every hour of overtime. Overtime hours are any hours more than 40 hours for the week

.
Part A: Create an equation that shows the amount of wages earned, W, for working x hours in a week when there is no overtime.

Part B: Create an equation that shows the amount of wages earned, S, for working y hours of overtime. Hint: Remember to include in the equation the amount earned from working 40 hours.

Part C: Andrew earned $330 in 1 week. How many hours (regular plus overtime) did he work?

Part A: W = 6x

Part B: Since without overtime it is 6 $ per hour and you need to make 40 hours
you would multiply 6 *40 = 240
So <u>S = 240 + 9y

</u>Part C: <u><em>Substitute</em></u><u />
Since Andrew earned 330 you would substitute it for <em>S</em>
<u>
330 = 240 + 9y
</u> <--- solve for <u /><u><em>y</em><em /></u><em />

330  ( - 240 ) = 240 ( - 240 ) 9y  < ---- subtract 240 from each side
90 = 9y
90 / 9 = 9y / 9 <----- divide by 9

10 =y   Andrew worked 10 hours for overtime

<u><em /></u><u><em /></u><em /><u><em>Check </em></u><u><em /></u><em />
<u><em />
</u>
<u><em>330</em></u><u><em /></u><em> </em>= 240 + 9(10)
<u><em>330</em></u><u><em /></u><em /> = 240 + 90
<u><em>330</em></u><u><em /></u><em /> = 330 <-- your answer is <u><em>10</em></u>

A car traveling east at 40.0 m/s passes a trooper hiding at the roadside. The driver uniformly reduces his speed to 25.0 m/s in
Anni [7]

Step-by-step explanation:

It is given that,

Initial speed of the car, u = 40 m/s

Final speed of the car, v = 25 m/s

Time taken, t = 3.5 s

(a) We need to find the magnitude and direction of the car’s acceleration as it slows down. It can be calculated using formula as :

a=\dfrac{v-u}{t}

a=\dfrac{25-40}{3.5}

a=-4.28\ m/s^2

The acceleration is in the opposite direction of motion i.e. west.

(b) Let s is the distance the car travel in the 3.5-s time period. It can be calculated using the third equation of motion as

s=\dfrac{v^2-u^2}{2a}

s=\dfrac{25^2-40^2}{2\times (-4.28)}

s = 113.9 meters

Hence, this is the required solution.

Pls Help! John wants to prove ABC = to DEF. He Knoes AB = DE and AC = DF. With Screenshot
matrenka [14]

Answer:

\angle A \cong \angle D

Step-by-step explanation:

The Side-Angle-Side method cana only be used when information given shows that an included angle which is between two sides of a ∆, as well as the two sides of the ∆ are congruent to the included side and two sides of the other ∆.

Thus, since John already knows that \overline{AB} \cong \overline{DE} and \overline{AC} \cong \overline{DF}, therefore, an additional information showing that the angle between \overline{AB} and \overline{DE} in ∆ABC is congruent to the angle between \overline{AC} and \overline{DF} in ∆DEF.

For John to prove that ∆ABC is congruent to ∆DEF using the Side-Angle-Side method, the additional information needed would be \angle A \cong \angle D.

See attachment for the diagram that has been drawn with the necessary information needed for John to prove that ∆ABC is congruent to ∆DEF.

The answer is 11 because if you look at the chart. You can see everything can be divided by 8 and 88 divided by 8 is 11.

79=11x+13 <br> Solve each equation by using the properties of equality and justify each step
neonofarm [45]

Solution: X=6

Detailed explanation:

In this problem we're asked to find "x" or the unknown.

The first step is to subtract 11x from both sides.

---\mapsto\boldsymbol{-11x+79=13}

Next, subtract 79 from both sides.

---\mapsto\boldsymbol{-11x=-66}

To finish this off, divide both sides by -11.

---\mapsto\boldsymbol{x=6}

Voila! There's our answer!
