Why are there two sets of phases during meiosis, but only one during mitosis?

Biology

Bcoz.. In meiosis ti change ploidy of cell from diploid(n) to haploid(2n) .. 2 division occur.. This helps in formation of haploid gametes.. When two gametes fuse.. They form diploid (2n) zygote.

On the other hand..

There is only one division in mitosis...bcoz no change in ploidy.. Use in growth. Bcoz it retains nucleo-cytoplasmic ratio.

Damm [24]
Answer: C

Explanation: Smaller single-celled organisms have a high surface area to volume ratio, which allows them to rely on oxygen and material diffusing into the cell (and wastes diffusing out) in order to survive. The higher the surface area to volume ratio they have, the more effective this process can be.

Which of Thomas hunt morgans hypotheses was valid
Simora [160]

Answer;

white eyes are homozygous recessive

Explanation;

 • Thomas Hunt Morgan work with the fruit fly showed that genes are linked in a series on chromosomes and are responsible for identifiable, hereditary traits. He was the first to identify that genes are linked to the same chromosome.
 • According to his hypothesis he stated that genes that are linked are arranged linearly on a chromosome, while those genes with low combination frequencies must be closer together and thus difficult to separate.
 • When a gene contains two similar alleles that is, either two dominant alleles or two recessive alleles then it is called homozygous dominant and homozygous recessive respectively. White eyes of a fruit fly is an example of homozygous recessive

Several scientists from different countries are asked to examine the results of an experiment before a journal will print it.
Minchanka [31]

Answer:

peer review

Explanation:

In science, results or findings from an experiment are usually published in journals. However, before they can be published, they have to undergo series of confirmation. One way to do this is to have several other scientists examine the results before finally publishing it. This is called PEER REVIEW.

PEER REVIEW is the process whereby an article that is about to be published in a scholarly journal is reviewed by researchers or scientists from the same field of study as the original scientist in order to ascertain the quality and validity of the result or findings. A peer-reviewed article is deemed to be of a very high quality.

8. A narrow region between two air masses of different densities is a A. ridge. B. system. C. gulley. D. front.
Helga [31]
The answer is d. front. A front is the narrow region between two air masses of different densities. The interaction of the air masses cause the mass that is less dense to rise. Once air rises it cools and condenses to form clouds and eventually leads to precipitation. Using cold fronts as an example, the denser mass of cold air forces the lighter warm air to rise.
