Sphinxa [80]

High blood sugar in the morning may be caused by the Somogyi effect, a condition also called "rebound hyperglycemia." It also may be caused by dawn phenomenon, which is the end result of a combination of natural body changes.Normal fasting blood sugar levels for a person with diabetes are between 70 and 130 milligrams per deciliter (mg/dL). So it's most commonly done before breakfast in the morning; and the normal range there is 70 to 100 milligrams per deciliter. Now when you eat a meal, blood sugar generally rises and in a normal individual it usually does not get above a 135 to 140 milligrams per deciliter.
