The endometrium is the innermost layer of the uterus/womb. It is a mucous membrane lining that thickens during the menstrual cycle.

Gynecology is a branch of medicine that deals with the function and disease of the female reproductive system. 

4. Salpingectomy
Salping/o - refers to the fallopian tubes
-ectomy - surgical removal

Salpingectomy is the surgical removal of the fallopian tube. It can be unilateral (meaning one tube) or bilateral (meaning both tubes). 

5. Oophorectomy
Oophor(o) - refers to the ovary
-ectomy - surgical removal

Oophorectomy is the surgical removal of the ovary. It can be unilateral or bilateral as well. 

6. Orchiditis
Orchid(o) - testes
-itis - inflammation

Orchiditis is the inflammation of the testes. Usually caused by infections like urinary infections and sexually transmitted infections.

7. Balanitis
Balan(o) - Head of the penis
-itis - means inflammation

It is the inflammation of the head of the penis or the foreskin. Usually occurs in men who are not circumcised. (common in men who are middle-aged or older.)

8. Dysmenorrhea
Dys/ - denotes pain or difficulty
men/o - refers to menstruation
/rrhea - refers to flow or discharge

Dysmenorrhea is defined as painful menstruation. There are two types, which are primary and secondary dysmenorrhea. 

9. Mastectomy
Mast/o/ - refers to the breast
-ectomy - surgical removal

Mastectomy is the surgical removal of breast tissue. It can be unilateral or bilateral. 

10. Dyspareunia
Dys - denotes painful or difficult
-pareunia - refers to intercourse

Dyspareunia is defined as persistent and/or recurring pain before, during, and/or after intercourse.
