The Hawaiians lost control of their island because US leaders took complete control of the country. I believe it was McKinley, who was the 25th president of the US, who finally took over the island.

The collectivization by the bolsheviks was not received very well by the peasant farmers who would better destroy their crops or kill their animals rather than have them confiscated. in addition, the was drought in the 1930's that led to more problem. The system also led to laziness.
