A pizza has a 14-inch diameter. What is the approximate area of the pizza? USE 3.14 for π.
REY [17]

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

How approximate is approximate?

I'll give you an answer to 2 decimal places.

Area = pi * r^2

r = d/2

d = 14

r = 14/2

r = 7

Area = 3.14 * 7^2

Area = 3.14 * 49

Area = 153.86 sq in.

Lots of pizza! Enjoy!

Got a calculator? all you do for #1 and #2 is multiply the two numbers and that is the value for x.
These problems are cross multiplication.
For the next two:
.25x = 6
divide both sides by .25
x  = 24
NEXT ONE:
.49x = 12
divide both sides by .49
x = 24.48

Guests at a pizza party are seated at three tables. The small table has 5 seats and 2 pizzas. The medium table has 7 seats and 3
bagirrra123 [75]

Answer:

the 5 seated table with the 2 pizzas got more each.

Step-by-step explanation:

\frac{5}{2} = 2\frac{1}{y2} pieces each

\frac{7}{3} = 2\frac{1}{3} pieces each

\frac{12}{5} = 2\frac{2}{5} pieces each

Now change the fractions s that they all have a common denominator.

2\frac{1}{2} = 2\frac{15}{30}

2\frac{1}{3} = 2\frac{10}{30}

2\frac{2}{5} = 2\frac{15}{30}

Thus meaning that the 5 seated table with the 2 pizzas got more each.

Find the midpoint of the segment between the points (8,-10) and (-10,-8)
Delvig [45]

Answer:

(-1, -9)

Step-by-step explanation:

Recall that for 2 points (x1, y1) and (x2,y2)

the midpoints are given by

x ordinate = \frac{x1+x2}{2}

y ordinate = \frac{y1+y2}{2}

In our case x1 = 8, y1 = -10, x2 = -10, y2=-8

x ordinate = \frac{x1+x2}{2}  = [8 + (-10) ] / 2 = -1

y ordinate = \frac{y1+y2}{2} = [-10 + (-8) ] / 2 = -9

hence midpoint is (-1, -9)

The value of y varies directly as the square of x and y=36 when x=3. What is y when x=4?
MissTica

Answer: y = 64

Step-by-step explanation:

y <> x² ----------------------- 1

y = kx² ----------------------- 2

36 = 3²k

36 = 9k

K = 36/9

= 4.

To find y when x = 4, we substitute for x in equation 2

y = kx²

y = 4²k

y = 16 x 4

y = 64
