Hey!

First you have to find the price for 1 hour. Divide the total price by the time

\frac{Total\ Price}{Time} = \frac{\$ 209}{11}

Divide 209 by 11

\$ 209 \div 11 = \$ 19\ /hour

Divide $152 by $19

152 \div 19 = 8

<em>That means Austin would have to work 8 hours to make $152</em>

\framebox{Answer = 8 hours}

Good luck and hope this helps!

You would use unit rate for this. If Austin makes $209 in 11 hours, then he makes 209/11 = 19 dollars in 1 hour.

Then, we can make a proportion:

$19/1 hour = $152/ x hours

Cross multiply:

152 = 19x

Solve for x to get:

x = 8 hours.

Clara lends half her collection of formal attires to her sister, Susan. Clara then buys four more attires. If she has 12 attires
alukav5142 [94]

Answer:

16

Step-by-step explanation:

Number of attires Clara has initially = x

lends half her collection of formal attires to her sister

Attires remaining after lending = Number of attires Clara has initially - attires she lent her sister

= x - 1/2x

= 1/2x

Clara then buys four more attires

= 1/2x + 4

If she has 12 attires now

12 = 1/2x + 4

12 - 4 = 1/2x

8 = 1/2x

x = 8 ÷ 1/2

= 8 × 2/1

= 16

x = 16

Number of attires Clara has initially = x = 16

Which of these are statistical questions that you could ask to gather data on the types of transportation to school?
Pavlova-9 [17]

Answer:

A statistical question is a question that can be answered by collecting data that vary. For example, “How old am I?” is not a statistical question, but “How old are the students in my school?” is a statistical question.

An option to buy a stock is priced at $150. If the stock closes above 30 next Thursday, the option will be worth $1000. If it cl
valentina_108 [34]

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

An option to buy a stock is priced at $150. If the stock closes above 30 next Thursday, the option will be worth $1000. If it closes below 20, the option will be worth nothing, and if it closes between 20 and 30, the option will be worth $200. A trader thinks there is a 50% chance that the stock will close in the 20-30 range, a 20% chance that it will close above 30, and a 30% chance that it will fall below 20.

a) Let X represent the price of the option

<h3><u>  x                  P(X=x) </u></h3>

$1000         20/100 = 0.2

$200          50/100 = 0.5

$0              30/100 = 0.3

b) Expected option price

= \sum x.P(X=x)\\\\ = 1000 * 0.2 + 200 * 0.5 + 0 = \$ 300

Therefore expected gain = $300 - $150 = $150

c) The trader should buy the stock. Since there is an positive expected gain($150) in trading that stock option.

Otieno is k years old.He is 5 years older than kidole what will be their age fours to come
EleoNora [17]

Answer:

Otieno's age in 4 years: k+4

Kidole's age in 4 years: k-1

Step-by-step explanation:

k = Otieno's age

k-5 = Kidole's age

Their ages will increase by 4 years when 4 years pass.

k+4 = Otieno's age in 4 years

k-5+4 = Kidole's age in 4 years

k-1 = Kidole's age in 4 years (after simplifying the expression)

I hope this helps!
