4days and 12hours

Explanation:

Given parameters:

Average speed  = 15m/s

Distance = 1800 miles

Unknown:

Number of days = ?

Solution:

Speed is the rate of change of distance with time;

          Speed = \frac{distance}{time}

Since the unknown is number of days, it is a measure of time:

    Time = \frac{distance }{speed}

The distance from California to Lansing is 1800miles. The journey takes the truck drivers to and fro. It is a two way trip;

 Total distance = 1800 miles x 2 = 3600miles

We need to convert miles to meters since that is the unit we can conveniently work with;

            1 mile = 1609.34m

          3600 miles =  3600 x 1609.34

                              = 5793638m

Inputting the values in the equation:

          Time = \frac{ 5793638}{15} = 386242.53s

Now we need to convert to day;

In a day, = 60 x 60 x 24 = 86,400s

                 1 day = 86400s

 Therefore;

  The number of days = \frac{386242.53}{86400} = 4.47days

This implies that it will take them 4 days and approximately 12 hours.

How high was a brick dropped from if if falls in 2.5 seconds?
jenyasd209 [6]
Using the kinematic equation d =  V_0 * t  + 1/2 * a * t^2, where d is height you can rewrite this to be d = 1/2*g*t^2 or 4.9t^2
g = a because this is a free fall
d = 1/2 * 9.81m/s^2 * 2.5^2
d = 30.65625m
d = 30.7m

What is the smallest radius of an unbanked (flat) track around which a bicyclist can travel if her speed is 32 km/h and the coef
Leviafan [203]

Answer: 29.83m

Explanation: coefficient of friction= v^2/rg

Coefficient of friction=0.27

V=32km/h

Convert km/h to m/s

32*1000/3600

32000/3600=8.89m/s

0.27=8.89^2/r*9.81

0.27*9.81*r=79.0321

R= 79.0321/2.6487

R=29.83m

8. A car starts from rest and accelerates at 5.5ms in an easterly direction.
snow_lady [41]
  • Initial velocity=0m/s=u
  • Acceleration=a=5.5m/s^2

#8.1

  • t=12s

\\ \sf\longmapsto v=u+at

\\ \sf\longmapsto v=0+5.5(12)

\\ \sf\longmapsto v=66m/s

#8.2

  • u=0m/s
  • v=18m/s
  • a=5.5m/s^2

Use third equation of kinematics

\\ \sf\longmapsto v^2-u^2=2as

\\ \sf\longmapsto s=\dfrac{v^2-u^2}{2a}

\\ \sf\longmapsto s=\dfrac{18^2-0^2}{2(5.5)}

\\ \sf\longmapsto s=\dfrac{324}{11}

\\ \sf\longmapsto s=29.4m
