A computer store has purchased three computers of a certain type at $500 apiece. It will sell them for $1000 apiece. The manufac
Ugo [173]

Answer:

The expected profit will be of 700 dollars

Explanation:

The expected profit will be the multiplication of the outcomes by their probability:

We have 10% chance of selling zero thus:

1,000(0) + 200(3-0) - 1,500 = -900

We have 20% chance of selling one thus:

1,000(1) + 200(3-1) - 1,500 = -100

We have 30% chance of selling two thus:

1,000(2) + 200(3-2) - 1,500 = 700

We have 40% chance of selling all thus:

1,000(3) + 200(3-3) - 1,500 = 1,500

\left[\begin{array}{ccc}weight&outcome&w.profit\\0.1&-900&-90\\0.2&-100&-20\\0.3&700&210\\0.4&1,500&600\end{array}\right]

We add each weighted profit to get the expected result:

-90 - 20 + 210 + 600 = 700

Ksenya-84 [330]

The human compromise that has made Linda to change her decision in upgrading the editing software due to the systems crashed that was caused by previous upgrade is Recency Syndrome.

  • The recency effect can be regarded as tendency to remember the action or effect of most recently presented information best.

  • This syndrome always helps manager to learn from past mistakes so that he can avoid it next time. If not for this syndrome, Linda could have gave in for the upgrade, but she was afraid of crashing of the system.

Therefore, Recency Syndrome is the correct term that describe Linda behaviors.

Swagelok Enterprises is a manufacturer of miniature fittings and valves. Over a 5-year period, the costs associated with one pro
Mars2501 [29]

Answer:

The rate of return did the company make on this product is 61.93%

Explanation:

initial cost = 20000

Annual benefit = 29000

Annual cost = 16000

Salvage value = 10000

t = 5yrs

Let rate of return is I, then at rate of return NPV=0

Present value = -20000 + (29000 - 16000)*(P/A, i, 5) + 10000 (P/F, i, 5)

-20000 + 13000*(P/A, i, 5) + 10000 (P/F, i, 5) = 0

13*(P/A, i, 5) + 10* (P/F, i, 5) = 20

We need to use trail and error method to find rate of return

At = 10%, value of expression 13*(P/A, i, 5) + 10* (P/F, i, 5) is 55.49

At = 15%, value of expression 13*(P/A, i, 5) + 10* (P/F, i, 5) is 48.55

At = 25%, value of expression 13*(P/A, i, 5) + 10* (P/F, i, 5) is 38.24

At = 35%, value of expression 13*(P/A, i, 5) + 10* (P/F, i, 5) is 31.09

At = 45%, value of expression 13*(P/A, i, 5) + 10* (P/F, i, 5) is 25.94

At = 55%, value of expression 13*(P/A, i, 5) + 10* (P/F, i, 5) is 22.11

At = 60%, value of expression 13*(P/A, i, 5) + 10* (P/F, i, 5) is 20.55

At = 62%, value of expression 13*(P/A, i, 5) + 10* (P/F, i, 5) is 19.98

using interpolation

rate of return = 0.6 + (20.55-20)/(20.55-19.98) * (0.62-0.6)

                       = 0.6+0.019298

                       = 0.6193

                       = 61.93%

Therefore, The rate of return did the company make on this product is 61.93%
