1) Determine the number of moles of chlorine gas

At STP 1 mol = 22.4 liter

=> [1mol/22.4 liter] * 0.050 liter = 0.00223 mol Cl2 (g)

2) Write the balanced equation

4HCl (g) + O2 --> 2Cl2 (g) + 2H2O (g)

3) Write the ratios of the compound on which you are focused.

4 HCl : 2 mol Cl2

Then, 0.00223 mol Cl2 * [4mol HCl / 2 mol Cl2] = 0.00446 mol HCl

5) Use Avogadro's number to find the number of molecules:

0.00446 mol * 6.02*10^23 = 2.68 * 10^21 molecules of HCl

Answer: 2.68 * 10^21 molecules

An unknown solid acid has a formula h2x. How could you determine the molar mass of the unknown acid for a titration with 0.455 m
Goshia [24]

Answer:

The answer is in the explanation.

Explanation:

A titration of H₂X with KOH produce:

H₂X + 2KOH → 2H₂O + K₂X

It is possible to obtain the moles of H₂X because the moles of KOH are the spent volume of the titration in liters × 0,455M. As for a complete titration of H₂X moles you need twice moles of KOH you know the moles of KOH obtained are half H₂X moles.

As you know the mass of the solid acid that you titrate and molar mass of acid is:

mass of acid / moles of acid. You can determine the molar mass of the unknown acid.

I hope it helps!

PV = nRT —> n = PV/RT

P = 2.90 atm
V = 4.80 L
R = 0.08206 L atm / mol K
T = 62.0 + 273 = 335 K (make sure you convert from celsius to kelvin)

n = (2.90 • 4.80) / (0.08206 • 335) = 0.506 moles of gas

Deposition?
Soloha48 [4]

The correct term for each statement is as follows;

 • Caves being formed by acid rain dissolving underground limestone - weathering
 • Deltas forming at the mouths of rivers - deposition
 • Glaciers scraping rocks across the earth’s surface - erosion
 • Rocks being made smooth by tumbling across a stream bed - weathering
 • Ponds filling up with sediment and becoming marshes - deposition

What is weathering?

Weathering in geology is the mechanical or chemical breaking down of rocks in situ by weather or other causes. options 7 and 14 are the case in this scenario as there is a breakdown of limestone and rocks.

Erosion is the result of having been worn away or eroded, as by a glacier on rock or the sea on a cliff face. Agents of erosion are water, ice or wind. Options 12 is an example of erosion because glaciers are wearing off rocks.

Deposition is the laying down of sediment carried by wind, flowing water, the sea or ice. Sediment can be transported as pebbles, sand and mud, or as salts dissolved in water. Options 8 and 15 are examples of deposition.
