Let's start by assigning variables to the numbers we want to find. m for muffins and c for cupcakes. Let's say the first selling statement takes a days, the second one takes b days.

m = 300 + 60a
c = 30a

m = 930 + 30b
c = 60b

Ok let's combine the first two equations so that a disappears:

2c = 60a
m = 300 + 2c

Now let's combine the last two equations so that b disappears:
c/2 = 30b
m = 930 + c/2

Now combine these results such that m disappears:

300 + 2c = 930 + c/2

... and simplify

3/2c = 630 => c = 420
m = 300 + 2*420 = 1140

So there were 420 cupcakes and 1140 muffins.
a = 14 days, and b = 7 days, but that was not asked.

Subtract 2+ 3a2 -12ab +4b2 from 1+ 8a2+16ab +2b2
Anvisha [2.4K]

The answer of the following subtraction is 5a^{2} -2b^{2} +28ab

Step-by-step explanation:

As per the question the equation will be

(1+8a^{2}+16ab+2b^{2}  ) - (2+3a^{2} -12ab+4b^{2}  )

To find the subtraction,

The steps are as follow

=1+8a^{2} +16ab+2b^{2} - 2 -3a^{2} +12ab-4b^{2}

=1-2 + 8a^{2} -3a^{2} +2b^{2} -4b^{2} +16ab+12ab

[ we took the variables with same power together]

=5a^{2} -2b^{2} +28ab

Hope it helps you.

In ΔRST, r = 620 inches, s = 840 inches and t=230 inches. Find the area of ΔRST to the nearest square inch.
muminat

Answer:

24179 square inches

Step-by-step explanation:

In ΔRST, r = 620 inches, s = 840 inches and t=230 inches. Find the area of ΔRST to the nearest square inch.

We use the formula

Heron's formula = √s(s - a)(s - b)(s - c)

Where s = a + b + c/2

Solving for s

s = 620 + 840 + 230/2

s = 845

Solving for the area of the triangle

= √845 × (845 - 620) × (845 - 840) × (845 - 230)

= √584634375

= 24,179.213696893 square inches

Approximately = 24179 square inches
