The Thrill amusement park charges an entry fee of $40 and an additional $5 per ride, x. The Splash water park charges an entry f

Answer: The two equations are:
y = 5x + 40
y = 3x + 60

In each problem, you are given the cost per ride. That is the slope, it goes in front of the x.

Then, you are also given the entry fee. That is the y-intercept, it goes at the end of the equation.

Now, the equations are in slope intercept form. Y = MX + B

Graphing the equations will give an answer of (10, 90)
This means for both plans 10 rides will cost $90.

What is the experimental probability a quarterback will complete his next pass if he has completed 30 of his last 40 passes?
Elden [556K]

Answer:

75%

Step-by-step explanation:

We know that the quarterback has completed 30 of 40 passes. This means that the ratio of completed passes to total passes is 30:40. Converting this to a fraction, we get 30/40, which can be simplified to 3/4. 3/4 as a percentage is 75%. Therefore, the final answer is 75%.

3) show that the two lines with the given slopes are parallel, perpendicular neither. My₁ = 3/4 M₂ = 12/16 . solve it by showing
Jet001 [13]

Parallel lines have equal slope so

  • M1-M2=0

Lets check

  • M1=3/4
  • M2=12/16=3/4

Now

  • M1-M2
  • 3/4-3/4
  • 0

Lines are parallel

Find the area of the smaller sector
Digiron [165]

Since the radius is 6 inches, the area is

A=\pi r^2=36\pi squared inches.

Now, the full circle is a sector given by a 360° angle. So, the area of a 140° angle will be proportionate:

140\div x = 360\div 36\pi

Solving for x, we have

x=\dfrac{36\pi\cdot 140}{360}=14\pi
