Answer:

The structure is shown in the diagram.

Explanation:

Lewis structure : In order to draw Lewis structure we will calculate the total number of valence electrons in the molecule.

The valence electrons from Cl : 7

The valence electrons from O = 3 X 6 = 18

Charge negative so more electrons = 2

total electrons = 7 + 18 +2 = 27

Now we will distribute the electrons on each atom and in between atoms as shown in the diagram.

Answer:

The structure is shown below.

Explanation:

To draw the Lewis structure, we put the central atom with its valence electrons, surrounded by their binders. In this case, the central atom is Cl, which has 7 electrons of valence. Each oxygen has 6 valence electrons.

Chlorine may expand the octet, and be stable with more than 8 electrons. Oxygen, although, must have 8 electrons to be stable. Thus, two oxygen will share two pairs with chlorine, and the other will receive one electron of the chlorine. So, the chlorine will have one lone pair.

The formal charges (in red) is calculated by:

FC = X - (Y + Z/2), where X is the number of valence electrons, Y is the number of unshared electrons and Z is the number of sharing electrons. Thus:

Cl: FC = 7 - (2 + 10/2) = 0

O that shares 2 electrons: FC = 6 - (4 + 4/2) = 0

O that sahres only 1 electron: FC = 6 - (6 + 2/2) = -1

The geometry will be pyramidal trigonal, as shown below.

When 0.1M HCl is added to the following system at equilibrium: AgCl(s) Ag+ (aq)+ Cl– (aq) the point of equilibrium will shift to
hichkok12 [17]
Le Chatelier's Principle says that when something disrupts the equilibrium, the system adjusts to minimize the effect of that disturbance. If 0.1 M HCl solution is added, this dissociates into H+ and Cl- ions, so there will be more Cl- ions in the system. This causes the reaction to go in the reverse direction (equilibrium shifts to the left) to reduce the amount of Cl-.
Since this also consumes Ag+ ions, the concentration of Ag+ (aq) will decrease.
The answer is the second choice.

Can you create or destroy energy? If yes why, if no why?
Step2247 [10]
The law of conservation of energy states that energy can neither be created nor destroyed.

It can only be converted from one form of energy to another.

I hope this helps! ❤️

The mass of a proton is 1.673 × 10-24 g. The mass of a neutron is 1.675 × 10-24 g. The mass of the nucleus of an 56Fe atom is 9.
Leokris [45]

Answer:

1.31 X 10^ -10 joules per Fe 56 atom

Explanation:

The mass of a proton is 1.673 × 10-24 g. The mass of a neutron is 1.675 × 10-24 g. The mass of the nucleus of an 56Fe atom is 9.289 × 10-23 g. What is the nuclear binding energy (in J) for 56Fe? (c = 3.00 × 108 m/s)

some of the theoretical mass will be converted to binding energy

by Einstein's famous relativity equation

E = mc^2

where E is in joules, m is in Kgm. c is in m/sec

56Fe is element 26 so it has 26 protons and  56 -26 =30 neutrons

its theoretical nuclear mass is

(26 X 1.673 X 10^-24) + (30X1.675 X 10^-24)  =

(43.498 X 10^-24) + (50.250 X 10^-24)=

93.748 X 10^24 gm

but its actual mass is 9.289 X 10^-23 g or

92.289 X 10^-24 g

the mas defect is the theoretical mass minus the actual

1.459 X 10^-24 gm =^

1.459 X 10^-27 Kgm

c = 3.00 X 10* m/s=

so joules of binding energy = (1.459 X 10^-27) X 9 X10^16)

1.31 X 10^ -10 joules per Fe 56 atom
