A candy store is making candy packages for amusement parks. Each package contains 7 boxes. Each box contains a 5 pound bag of ch
ocolate and 2 bags of cotton candy sugar. The bags of cotton candy sugar are all identical. All the boxes combined weighs a total of 91 pounds. How much does each bag of cotton candy sugar weigh?
Per package there are 7 boxes, we know that in each box there are 5 pound bags of chocolate and 2 bags of cotton candy sugar, therefore, per package is:
7 * 5 = 35 pound bag of chocolate
7 * 2 = 14 bags of cotton candy sugar
We know that all this weighs 91 pounds:
35 + 14 * x = 91
if we solve for x:
x = (91 -35) / 14
x = 4
Which means that each bags of cotton candy sugar weighs 4 pounds
