Shelby mixes a 25% bleach solution with 5 cups of a 10% bleach solution, resulting in a 20% bleach solution. The table shows the

amount of each solution used. A table titled Bleach Solution showing Cups, Bleach concentration, and Total. The first row shows 10 percent Bleach with 5, 0.10, and 0.5. The second row shows, 25 percent bleach, with x, 0.25, and 0.25 x. The third row shows Mixture, with 5 plus x, 0.20, and 3. What is the value of x? 1 3 10 24

Answer:

The value of x is 10

Step-by-step explanation:

We can use a system of equations to solve this.

Cups of 25% bleach solution used = x

Cups of 1-% bleach solution used = 5

Cups of solution we get = y

The first equation becomes:

x + 5 = y

Using the decimal forms of each percentage solution

25% solution for x cups = 0.25x

10% solution for 5 cups = 0.1(5)

20% solution for y cups = 0.2 y

The second equation becomes:

0.25x + 0.1(5) = 0.2y

So the system of equations is:

x + 5 = y

0.25x + 0.1(5) = 0.2y

Solve both equations simultaneously to find the values of x and y:

x = 10 cups

y = 15 cups

QveST [7]

Answer:

72%

Step-by-step explanation:

you can divide part of a whole by the whole to get a decimal

this decimal is the percentage when you move the decimal 2 places to the right

32 - 9 = 23 men

23/32 = .72 (rounded)

.72 = 72%

Use common denominators to determine whether the ratios form a proportion.
AURORKA [14]
They are not in proportion, since its 6:9 round it down (2:3) so pretend the 6 are apples and the 9 are oranges

Every 2 apples there are 3 oranges

So having 9 apples what is that?

2 x ? = 9

2 x 4.5 = 9

So if you want to keep 2:3 you have you times the oranges by 4.5 aswell!

3 x 4.5 = 13.5

So since it is 9:12 not 9:13.5 they are not in proportion

Solving the equation and something to do with log
Anastaziya [24]

Answer:

m= 1/2.

Step-by-step explanation:

To solve this, we must make the bases equivalent. We can do this by finding the common base which is 5.

We know that 125= 5³ and 25=5², which will help us in this equation. We can rewrite the equation substituting this for the original numbers:

5^{3(2m)} = 5^{2(m+1)} Distribute the exponents to get:

5^{6m} = 5^{2m+2}

Now, we can simply ignore the '5' and solve for 'm':

6m= 2m+2

4m= 2

m= 1/2.
