Answer:

1. You take 24.8 and multiply it by .4 which equals 9.92. Then you do 24.8 - 9.92 which equals 14.88.  Mrs. Adler's meal is 14.88 dollars

2. Next you take 24.8 and divide it by 2. Which equals 12.4. Diane's meal is 12.4 dollars.

3. After all of that you add 14.88, 12.4, and 24.8 which equals 52.08. The total cost is $52.08

Answer:

.90(85.00) would give the same result

Step-by-step explanation:

Rhonda is using the total cost of the item ($85.00) multiplied by the discount (10%) to find the total discount:  85 x 0.10 = 8.50.  Once Rhonda subtracts the discount ($8.50) from the total:  $85 - $8.50 = $76.50.  The other way to look at the problem, is that Rhonda is only paying for 90% of the total cost of the items, instead of 100% since she is receiving the 10% discount.  So, she would get the same final total by multiplying the cost of the items ($85.00) by 90%, or 0.90.

Add the three angles and set them to 180
4x-13+15+x+18=180
5x+20=180
5x=160
x=32

Then plug in to get A and C
A=4*32-13
A=115

C=32+18
C=50
