The growing intense demand of industrial and agricultural production is which mainly cause pollution to each ecosystem. This type of production demands larger land and water resource due to the rapidly growing industries. An example of this is the higher irrigated productions which comes with the agriculture intensification, the more production, more irrigation is needed, more fertilizers, which continuously create pollution.

In addition, if we consider some specific production systems, we could identify a risk:

Rainfed Cropping Highlands, cause erosion, land degradation, soil and water productivity reduction and increased flood events.

Irrigared Rice-based and other crops systems, cause a poor return of investments, land degradation, land abandonment, increasing cost of land conservation and land impoverishment.

Rangelands, cause desertification, land abandonment, extreme land poverty and intensification of natural conflicts.

<em>Therefore, as you can see, each system production carries specific risks, which are increased with the constant increasing of the intensity of demand by big industries.</em>
