Answer:

VW = 8

Step-by-step explanation:

Because this trapezoids are similar

PS : TW = PQ : TU = QR : UV = RS : VW

We can take for example this equation

QR : UV = RS : VW

6 : 4 = 12 : VW

6*VW = 4*12

VW = 4*12/6 = 8

Answer:  x = 8

Step-by-step explanation:

From all the other dimensions given, you can see that the small trapezoid's sides are each 2/3 of the large trapezoid.

6= 2/3(9) . 4= 2/3(6) .12= 2/3(18) .  so take 2/3(12) = 8

Work backwards. If there were 14 at the end, then multiply this by 3/2 because 2/3 of the marbles were given to Sam. so 14 times 3/2 is 21. There were 28 total because if you add 1/3 to 1/6 you get 1/2. So they they lost 1/2 of the marbles and got 1/4 of the original amount back, which was 21.
So the original number was 28. Hope this helps!

Give an example of a real-world cost that depends on an unknown amount of something. Try to create an expression to represent th
lakkis [162]

Answer:

Ok, let's suppose that the unknown amount is the number of books you buy in a library. (let's represent this unknown quantity with the variable X)

We know that each book costs $9.75, and we know that in total cost for the X books is $68.25

Then, how many books do you get?

We know that if one book costs  $9.75, then X books will cost X times $9.75

Then the total cost is:

C(X) = X* $9.75

And we know that the total cost was $68.25

Then to solve this, we need to solve the equation:

X* $9.75 = $68.25

X = $68.25/$9.75 = 7
