During the holocaust, Hitler convinced many Germans that the Jewish people were a race, not a religious group. But because of his prejudice toward the Jewish and other groups like homosexuals and gypsies, there was a reason for them to be persecuted. These groups were torn from their homes and taken into concentration camps where many were murdered. During the internment of Japanese Americans, there was a lower level of racism because they were not sent to die. After the Japanese bombed pearl harbor, America took a racist approach and sent Japanese citizens to interment camps. They had more freedom than the victims of the concentration camps. But nonetheless, they were taken from their homes, and after the internment many could not return to their homes.
