Answer:

Area of shaded part ABCEF = 66 sq.cm

Step-by-step explanation:

AB = 8cm

CD = 8cm

Let DE = x cm

CE = 3x cm

CD =  CE + DE = 8cm

        x + 3x = 8

4x = 8

x = 8/4 = 2 cm

DE = 2cm

CE = 3 * 2 = 6 cm

Area of triangle ADE = 1/2 * base * height

                                   = 1/2 * DE * AD

                                    = 1/2 * 2 * 11 = 11 sq. cm

Area of triangle AEF = Area of triangle ADE = 11 sq. cm

Area of Rectangle ABCD =  l * b = 8 * 11 = 88 sq.cm

Area of shaded part ABCEF = Area of Rectangle ABCD - (Area of triangle AEF + Area of triangle ADE)

    = 88 - ( 11 + 11 )  = 88 -22 = 66 sq.cm

Find the value of x,
Gekata [30.6K]

Answer: x = -7

Concept:

From the given graph, we can see that it is an isosceles triangle since the two base angles are congruent.

In geometry, an isosceles triangle is a triangle that has two sides of equal length.

If you are still confused, you may refer to the attachment below for a graphical explanation or tell me.

Solve:

Given information

First Side = 7

Second Side = x + 14

Given expression deducted from the definition of an isosceles triangle

Second Side = First Side

Substitute values into the expression

x + 14 = 7

Subtract 14 on both sides

x + 14 - 14 = 7 - 14

\boxed{x=-7}

Hope this helps!! :)

If the rate of inflation is 3.4%per year, the future price pt(in dollars) of a certain item can be modeled by the following expo
Doss [256]

Answer:

The current price is $3000 and price after 9 years from today is $4054.

Step-by-step explanation:

The future price pt(in dollars) of a certain item can be modeled by the following exponential function

p(t)=3000(1.034)^t

where, t is the number of years from today.

Substitute t=0 to find the current price.

p(0)=3000(1.034)^0=3000

Therefore the current price is $3000.

Substitute t=9 to find the price after 9 years from today.

p(9)=3000(1.034)^9

p(9)=3000(1.35109177087)

p(9)=4053.27531261

p(9)\approx 4054

Therefore the price after 9 years from today is $4054.
