Answer:

pOH = 1.82

pH = 12.18

Explanation:

pH is defined as - log [H⁺] while pOH is defined as - log [OH⁻]

When you take 30mL of a solution 0.25M of NaOH and complete to 500mL the concentration of NaOH is:

0.25M of NaOH ₓ (30mL / 500mL) = 0.015M of NaOH. As NaOH is a strong base and dissociates completely, the concentration of OH⁻, [OH⁻] is 0.015M. Thus, pOH is:

pOH = - log [0.015M] = 1.82

As 14 = pOH + pH, pH of the solution is:

pH = 14 - 1.82

pH = 12.18

Consider the substances hydrogen (H2), fluorine (F2), and hydrogen fluoride (HF). Based on their molecular structures, how does
katovenus [111]

Answer:

The boiling point of HF is higher than the boiling point of H2, and it is higher than the boiling point of F2.

Explanation:

In HF, inter- molecule forces will be present between the hydrogen and fluorine atoms. There will be hydrogen bonding present among the hydrogen and fluorine atoms. Hydrogen bonds are strong bonds and hence the boiling point for HF would be high as much energy will be required to break these bonds.

H2 and F2 will only have intra-molecular attractions and there will be no hydrogen bonds present in them. As a result, their boiling point will be lower.

(a) the temperature on a warm summer day is 87 °f. what is the temperature in °c? (b) many scientific data are reported at 25
olchik [2.2K]

Answers:

              (a)  30.55 °C

              (b) 298 K and 77°F

              (c)  204.44 °C and 477.44 K

              (d)  -320.8 °F and -196 °C

Explanation:

Converting °C into °F;

                                   °F  =  °C × 1.8 + 32

Converting °F into °C;

                                   °C  =  °F - 32 ÷ 1,8

Converting °C into K;

                                   K  =  °C + 273

Converting K into °C;

                                   °C  =  K - 273

Why do scientists think there is an undiscovered carbon sink somewhere?
dedylja [7]
The major carbon sources (reservoirs that release more carbon than absorbed) are: deforestation and fossil fuels

The major carbon sinks (reservoirs that absorb more carbon than released) are:
soil, oceans and plants.

When scientists calculate the amount of carbon dioxide is returned to the atmosphere vs the released the amount of carbon, a large amount is unaccounted for and the total does not add up. This is why scientists believe there is an undiscovered carbon sink somewhere.
