Sea level is currently rising at 3.2 mm/yr, and scientists predict that global warming could cause a rise in sea level of 7 m if

Answer:

2188 years

Explanation:

given,

see level rising at the rate = 3.2 mm/yr

height of the sea level to rise = 7 m

time it will take rise 7 m = ?

we know,

           1 m = 1000 mm

           1 mm = 0.001 m

rate of increase of rate = 0.0032 m/year

time taken to rise = \dfrac{7}{0.0032}\ years

                             = 2187.5 years

Now, time taken by the sea level to rise 7 m is equal to 2188 years.

What is 50,000 in exponential notation?
oee [108]

Answer:

To write 50000 in scientific notation, we will have to move the decimal point four points to left, which literally means dividing by 104 . Hence in scientific notation 50000=5×104 (note that as we have moved decimal four points to left and thus divided by 104 , we are multiplying by 104 to compensate.

2. A 2kg body attached to a spring undergoes a SHM of amplitude 0.4m and period
Rudik [331]

Answer:

a) 12.8 N

b) 3.2 m/s²

Explanation:

I'm guessing the period is 0.5π s.

Period of a spring in simple harmonic motion is:

T = 2π √(m/k)

Given T = 0.5π and m = 2 kg:

0.5π = 2π √(2/k)

0.25 = √(2/k)

0.0625 = 2/k

k = 32

The spring constant is 32 N/m, and the maximum displacement is 0.4 m.  The maximum force can be found with Hooke's law:

F = kx

F = (32 N/m) (0.4 m)

F = 12.8 N

The acceleration can be found with Newton's second law:

∑F = ma

kx = ma

(32 N/m) (0.2 m) = (2 kg) a

a = 3.2 m/s²

will the value of g be affected by the radius of the earth? consider the real shape of the earth. compare the acceleration due t
sp2606 [1]

Answer:

Yes, the value of g affected by the radius.

Explanation:

The formula for the force of gravity of 2 objects is

F_{gravity} = G\frac{m_{1}m_{2}}{r^2}, where m1 and m2 are the masses of the 2 objects, r is the radius, and G is the gravitational constant, which is approximately 6.67 \cdot 10^{-11}.

Therefore, as the radius if bigger, the force of gravity is going to be smaller exponentially.
