help. how to sketch the graph

Chemistry

f(x) = |x-4| + 2

|a| ≥ 0 ∀ a∈R

That means the minim of the function will be when |x-4|=0 ⇒ x = 4

f(4) = |4-4|+2

f(4) = 2 ⇒ M(4,2) - minim point

<em>We notice that the function f is ascending for x ∈ [4,+∞) and is descending for x ∈ (-∞,4]</em>

Because the function is linear, the sketch of the graph will be 2 lines with the intersection in the point M(4,2) (in our case).

Let's find f(0) = |0-4|+2 = 4+2 = 6 ⇒ N (0,6) is the intersection of the function with Oy axis. (now we can sketch the graph only for x ∈(-∞,4] )

Now let's calculate the function for a value bigger than 4 : for example f(5) = 3 ⇒ P (5,3) ∈ Gf

So you can see the graph in the picture.Have a nice day :)

2. Determine the molarity of the NaOH solution in each trial. a. Trial 1 Molarity: b. Trial 2 Molarity: 3. Calculate the average
butalik [34]

Answer:

This question is incomplete

Explanation:

This question is incomplete but...

1) You can calculate the molarity of the NaOH for each trial by following the steps below.

The formula for Molarity (M) is

M = number of moles (n) ÷ volume (V)

where the unit of volume must be in Litres or dm³

The unit of molarity is mol/dm³ or mol/L or molar conc (M)

The final answer must have the unit of molarity

If the number of moles is not provided, look out for the mass of NaOH used and then calculate your number of moles (n) as

n = mass of NaOH used ÷ molar mass of NaOH

Where the atomic mass of sodium (Na) is 23, oxygen (O) is 16 and hydrogen (H) is 1. Hence, molar mass for NaOH is 23 + 16 + 1 = 40 g/mol

n = mass of NaOH used ÷ 40

2) Average Molarity will be (Trial 1 Molarity +Trial 2 Molarity) ÷ 2

Answer must be in mol/dm³ or mol/L or M

3) Label the volumentric flask containing the NaOH solution with the answer gotten from (2) above

A liquid has a density of 1.17 g/cm3, how many liters of the liquid have a mass of 3.75 kg
Luda [366]
<span>There are 1000 cm3 in 1 liters. Hence 1 liter of the liquid would weigh: 1000 cm3 x (1.17 g/cm3) = 1170 gm and there are 1000 gm in 1 kg, so we want enough liters to have a mass of 3.75 kg x 1000 gm/kg = 3750 gm Hence, # of liters = desired mass / # of gm per liter = 3750 gm / 1170 gm/liter = 3.2051282 liters</span>

A gas has an initial volume of 455 mL at 105ºC and a final volume of 235 mL. What is its final temperature in Celsius degrees?
Oksana_A [137]
Hello!

To solve this problem we're going to use the Charles' Law. This Law describes the relationship between Volume and Temperature in an ideal gas. Applying this law we have the following equation:

\frac{V1}{T1} = \frac{V2}{T2} \\ \\ T2= \frac{V2*T1}{V1}= \frac{235 mL * 105 ^{\circ}C }{455 mL}=54,23 ^{\circ}C

So, the final temperature is 54,23 °C

Have a nice day!
