X= Rita's pay
1/2x + 40= Bill's pay

x + (1/2x + 40)= $520
combine like terms

1 1/2x + 40= 520
convert to improper fraction

3/2x + 40= 520
subtract 40 from both sides

3/2x= 480
divide both sides by 3/2

x= 480 ÷ 3/2
to divide fractions, multiply by reciprocal of 3/2

x= 480 * 2/3
multiply numerators; multiply denominators

x= (480*2)/(1*3)

x= 960/3

x= $320 Rita's pay

ANSWER: Rita's pay is $320 using
x + (1/2x + 40)= 520.

Hope this helps! :)

Part A: it is linear because it is not curving and it consists of straight lines.

Part B: in side A it is increasing because it has a positive slope. In side b it is constant because the slope is 0 since it is straight. Finally, side C is decreasing because the slope is negative.

Part C: during side A the ant is crawling out of the hole in 2 seconds. After that, the ant stops for 2 more seconds as shown in side B. Then, he crawls back into the hole as shown by the decrease in distance due to the slope.

Hope this helps!!!

when Jeremy surveyed Thirty seventh grade students at the community pool he found that to a 15 had not read at least one book du
Anettt [7]

200 * 2/15 = the number of students that didn't read any books. This is 26.6, so 40 is not a good estimate 40 students is 20 percent versus 26 being approximately 13 percent.

What is the slope of a line that is perpendicular to the line shown? (0,2) (3,0)
Greeley [361]

Step-by-step explanation:

This means that if a line is perpendicular to a line that has slope m, then the slope of the line is -1 / m. For example, we found that the slope of the line y = (1/2)x + 3 is 1/2. Thus any line that is perpendicular to this line would have slope -2 /1 = -2.

Triangle PQR hAS vertices P (4,-1),Q(-2,7), and R (9,9). find an equation of the median from R
strojnjashka [21]
A median intersects at the midpoint of the opposite length. The midpoint is:

x,m = (4+-2)/2 = 1
y,m = (-1+7)/2 = 3

The midpoint is at (1,3). With this point and point R(9,9), the equation would be:

y = mx + b, where
m = (9 - 3)/(9 - 1) = 0.75
b is the y-intercept
Substituting any point,
3 = 0.75(1)+b
b = 2.25

Thus, the equation for the median is:

y = 0.75x + 2.25
