Answer:

$ 325

Step-by-step explanation:

Let the cost of washer be ' x '

Let the cost of dryer be ' y '

According to Question,

x + y = 744 -----> equation (i)

x - y = 94 ------> equation (ii)

Adding equation (i) and (ii),

x + y = 744

+ x - y = 94

---------------------

2x = 838

Dividing both sides of the equation by 2

2x/2 = 838/2

Calculate

X = 419

Again,

Putting the value of X in equation (i)

X + y = 744

419 + y = 744

subtract 419 on both sides

y + 419 - 419 = 744 - 419

Calculate:

y = 325

The cost of dryer is $ 325.

Hope this helps...

Good luck on your assignment...

Answer: 325$

Explanation:
Assume: A is the cost of washer
And B is the cost of dryer

A+B = 744
And: A = B + 94$
We get:

B + 94$ + B = 744
2B + 94 = 744
2B = 650
B = 325

if you deposit $500 at an interest rate of 3% for four years, how much will you receive when you withdraw it from the bank?
Ray Of Light [21]
1st year 500* 0.03 = 15+500=515
2nd year 515*0.03= 15.45 + 515 = 530.45
3rd year 530.45*0.03= 15.9135 + 530.45 = 546.3635
4th year 546.3635 * 0.03 = 16.390905 + 546.3635 = 562.754405

Find the roots of the equation x^2+2x+5=0
stiv31 [10]

Answer:

x = - 1 ± 2i

Step-by-step explanation:

we can use the discriminant b² - 4ac to determine the nature of the roots

• If b² - 4ac > , roots are real and distinct

• If b² - 4ac = 0, roots are real and equal

• If b² - ac < 0, roots are not real

for x² + 2x + 5 = 0

with a = 1, b = 2 and c = 5, then

b² - 4ac = 2² - (4 × 1 × 5 ) = 4 - 20 = - 16

since b² - 4ac < 0 there are 2 complex roots

using the quadratic formula to calculate the roots

x = ( - 2 ± \sqrt{-16} ) / 2

 = (- 2 ± 4i ) / 2 = - 1 ± 2i
