The spindle microtubules will pull the duplicated chromosomes apart and later it will lead to cell division.

Explanation:

  • The process of division of a eukaryotic cell is called Mitosis. It is the process in which nucleus inside a cell is split in two and it is followed by the formation of two daughter cells
  • There are four steps in this process and they are prophase, metaphase, anaphase and telophase
  • These microtubules structure is formed from the centrosomes which are found in the poles of a cell, these tubules will grow and separate the duplicated DNA
  • The process of separation of DNA happens in the metaphase and anaphase

In fruit flies, gray bodies (G) are dominant over black bodies (g), and red eyes (R) are dominant over orange eyes (r). Each ind
Sindrei [870]

Answer:

The predicted genotype of the offspring is GgRr.

Explanation:

The gray body is dominant over black body. The genotype of gray body is GG and the genotype of black body is gg. Red eyes are dominant over orange eyes. The genotype for red eye is RR whereas the genotype of orange eye is rr.

GGRR is crossed with ggrr, the offspring produced by this cross is GgRr with gray body and red eyes.

GGRR  ×   ggrr

 GgRr.

The binding of the neurotransmitter to receptors on the motor end plate causes which of the following to occur?
dmitriy555 [2]

The correct answer is: D) Binding of the neurotransmitter causes chemically gated sodium channels to open in the motor end plate (junctional folds of the sarcolemma) and sodium enters the cell.

The motor neuron cell is connected to muscle cell via synaptic cleft, where neurotransmitter is released. The muscle side of this synapse is called motor end plate. Released neurotransmitter is acetylcholine and it binds to its receptor (ACh receptor) on the motor end plate. As it binds, ion channels open, and Na+ gets into the muscle cell. This event reduces the voltage difference between the inside and outside of the cell and causes  depolarization which creates a wave through the entire muscle cell (its membrane-sarcolema). As a consequence, Ca2+ is released from the sarcoplasmic reticulum which will cause the contraction of the muscle cell.

What conclusion would be most appropriate about the genetic variation between humans and the 3 apes as illustrated by the phylog
GuDViN [60]
I believe the correct answer is that <span>The genetic variation between humans and orangutans is the greatest.
We cannot say that there is no genetic variation at all, because there obviously is - we are not the same as the other three apes, even though we have a common ancestor. Also, we cannot say that we are completely the same, because there are obvious differences. And finally, we didn't originate from those three animals, but rather all of us come from the same organism.
