Answer:

(a) 200.0628 N   ;   ( b) 4.08Kg

Explanation:

We know,

w = mg        [here w= weight , m= mass , g= gravity]

now,

gravity on earth (g) =9.807 m/s²

mass of the spanner (m)=?

weight of the spanner on earth(w) = 40N

                                              ⇒ w = 40N

                                              ⇒m g =40N

                                              ⇒m = (40/g) Kg

                                              ⇒m= (40/9.807)Kg

                                             ∴m=4.08Kg

∴mass of the spanner on earth = 4.08Kg

We know,

Mass is the amount of matter in an object . So mass will remain same both on earth and jupiter.

So,

(b)The mass of the spanner on jupiter =  4.08Kg

Now,

The mass of the spanner on jupitar (m) =  4.08Kg

Gravity on jupiter (g*) = 5.g              [5 times on earth]

                                   = 5 . (9.807)m/s²

                                   =49.035 m/s²

(a)

∴weight of the spanner on jupitar(w*) = m g*

                                                            =(4.08 x 49.035) N

                                                            =200.0628 N

Two protons are released from rest when they are 0.750 {\rm nm} apart.
Alex787 [66]

Explanation:

Given:

m = 1.673 × 10^-27 kg

Q = q = 1.602 × 10^-19 C

r = 0.75 nm

= 0.75 × 10^-9 m

A.

Energy, U = (kQq)/r

Ut = 1/2 mv^2 + 1/2 mv^2

1.673 × 10^-27 × v^2 = (8.99 × 10^9 × (1.602 × 10^-19)^2)/0.75 × 10^-9

v = 1.356 × 10^4 m/s

B.

F = (kQq)/r^2

F = m × a

1.673 × 10^-27 × a = ((8.99 × 10^9 × (1.602 × 10-19)^2)/(0.075 × 10^-9)^2

a = 2.45 × 10^17 m/s^2.

If the mass of a 1.8 g paperclip was able to be completely converted to energy, how much energy would you obtain?
Anton [14]

Answer:

E=1.62\times 10^{14}\ J

Explanation:

Given that,

The mass of the paperclip, m = 1.8 g = 0.0018 kg

We need to find the energy obtained. The relation between mass and energy is given by :

E=mc^2

Where

c is the speed of light

So,

E=0.0018\times (3\times 10^8)^2\\\\E=1.62\times 10^{14}\ J

So, the energy obtained is 1.62\times 10^{14}\ J.
