Answer:

The type of language dominant is this passage is D. figurative.

Explanation:

The term figurative language is used to describe the way writers employ words and phrases with meanings different from the original ones. There are several types or manners in which figurative language can be used. One of the most common ones is a simile, which is exactly what we have in the passage. A simile is a figure of speech used with the intention of making a comparison - stating a similarity - between two different things. It uses words such as "as" or "like".

“The poppies bobbed their heads like helmeted soldiers in formation.”

In the passage, the poppies are being compared to soldiers in formation. The purpose of such comparison is to attribute the characteristics of one element to the other. In this case, maybe the poppies were all aligned, moving in unison as the wind blew, just like soldiers are aligned and move in unison.

It's certainly sensory. And it's figurative too. I think I'd pick figurative because the central piece of language is a simile. That's pretty good use of language when you compare the bobbing heads of flowers to helmeted soldiers.

Answer:

30 dollars is the first answer, the second one is explained bellow.

Explanation:

If she earns $12 per 2 hours and $18 per three, it means Theresa receives six dollars per working hour.

The formula is this one:

Y is found when you multiple x (the amount of hours she spends working) times the hourly waive she is given. So, the formula would be y=(a) (x) where y is the total (30 dollars) and a is 6 and x the hours spent at work, 5, giving 30 as a result.
