Legend has it that a bull sasquatch in rut will howl approximately 9 times per hour when it is 40°f outside and only 5 times per

hour if it is 70°f. assuming that the number of howl's per hour, n, can be represented by a linear function of temperature fahrenheit, find the number of howl's per hour he'll make when it is only −20°f outside. (round your answer to the nearest whole number.)

The answer is 13.

To solve this question, you need to determine the slope of the function. if howl  is y and the temperature is x of the graph, the slope would be:

9-5/(40-70)= 4/-30= -2/15

Using one of the point and the slope, you can find the number of howl

-2/15= 9-y/40-(-20)

9-y= -2/15 * 60

9-y= -4

y= 9+4= 13

Ms. Skeen bought 3 pounds of candy for the Christmas party. There was a total of 147 pieces of candy. She wants to divide it amo
ohaa [14]

The 3 lbs of candy is irrelevant, so we can discard that. All you need to do is divide 147 by 26, which is 5.65 pieces of candy. Each student will get 5 pieces, with a few left over.

Jack wants to share his candy with friends. Right now he has 4 1/3 pieces of chocolate. How many friends can he give 1/2 a candy
cricket20 [7]

Answer:

8 Friends

Step-by-step explanation:

First convert 4 1/3 to a mixed fraction

4 1/3 --> 13/3

Then divide by 1/2 to find how many friends per 1/2 candy bar with 13/3 candy bars

(13/3)/(1/2)

=(13*2)/(3*1)

=26/3

8.66667

Since you can't have 0.66667 of a person you get 8 friends to give candy to
