Use tangent.

tangent=\dfrac{opposite}{adjacent}

\tan(m\angle F)=\dfrac{DE}{EF}

We have:

m\angle F=32^o,\ DE=15

Substitute:

\tan32^o=\dfrac{15}{EF}\\\\\tan32^o\approx0.6249\\\\\dfrac{15}{EF}=0.6249\\\\\dfrac{15}{EF}=\dfrac{6249}{10000}\ \ \ \ |\text{cross multiply}\\\\6249EF=150000\ \ \ \ |\text{divide both sides by 6249}\\\\EF\approx24

<h3>Answer: 24.0</h3>

Doug dives from a platform that is 10 meters above water. His dive takes him 3.8 meters below the
Lynna [10]

Answer:

13.8

Step-by-step explanation:

His dive once he hits the water and goes below the surface water line is in the same direction as his dive off the platform. That's very important when you start to consider direction. So you add. Be sure and read this paragraph again.

Dive = platform + under the surface

Dive = 10 + 3.8

Dive = 13.8

How do I solve the equation in an interval from 0 to 2π ? 9 cos 2t = 6
Ivahew [28]

9\cos(2t)=6\implies\cos(2t)=\dfrac23

Using the fact that cos is 2π-periodic, we have

\cos(2t)=\dfrac23\implies2t=\cos^{-1}\left(\dfrac23\right)+2n\pi

That is, \cos(\theta+2n\pi)=\cos\theta for any \theta and integer n.

\implies t=\dfrac12\cos^{-1}\left(\dfrac23\right)+n\pi

We get 2 solutions in the interval [0, 2π] for n=0 and n=1,

t=\dfrac12\cos^{-1}\left(\dfrac23\right)\text{ and }t=\dfrac12\cos^{-1}\left(\dfrac23\right)+\pi
