Answer: The molality of the solution is 0.953 m

Explanation:

Molarity of a solution is defined as the number of moles of solute dissolved per Liter of the solution

Molarity=\frac{n\times 1000}{V_s}

where,

n= moles of solute

V_s = volume of solution in ml

Given : 0.907 moles of lead(ii)nitrate is dissolved in 1000 ml of the solution.

density of solution= 1.252 g/ml

Thus mass of solution = Density\times volume=1.252\times 1000 ml=1252g

mass of solute =moles\times {\text {Molar mass}}=0.907mol\times 331g/mol=300g

mass of solvent =mass of solution - mass of solute = (1252-300)g= 952 g

Molality of a solution is defined as the number of moles of solute dissolved per kg of the solvent.

Molality=\frac{n\times 1000}{W_s}

where,

n = moles of solute  = 0.907 moles

W_s= weight of solvent in g  = 952 g

Molality = \frac{0.907\times 1000}{952g}=0.953m

Thus molality of the solution is 0.953 m

24.568 cm of chlorine at 25° C will occupy what volume
Vlad1618 [11]

Answer:

20.446cm3

Explanation:

The following were obtained from the question given:

V1 (initial volume) = 24.568 cm3

T1 (initial temperature) = 25°C = 25 + 273 = 298K

T2 (final temperature) = - 25°C = - 25 + 273 = 248K

V2 (final volume) = ?

Since the pressure is constant, the gas is obeying Charles' law. With the Charles' law equation V1/T1 = V2/T2, we can easily calculate the final volume as follow:

V1/T1 = V2/T2

24.568/298 = V2/248

Cross multiply to express in linear form as shown below:

298 x V2 = 24.568 x 248

Divide both side by 298

V2 = (24.568 x 248) /298

V2 = 20.446cm3

From the calculations made above, the volume of the gas at -25°C is 20.446cm3

Lastly, Snape thinks we should try one more calculation. What is the retention factor if the distance traveled by the solvent fr
Neporo4naja [7]

Answer:

0.1 is the retention factor.

Explanation:

Distance covered by solvent ,d_s= 2.0 cm

Distance covered by solute or ion,d = 0.20 cm

Retention factor(R_f) is defined as ratio of distance traveled by solute to the distance traveled by solvent.

R_f=\frac{d}{d_s}

R_f=\frac{0.20 cm}{2.0 cm}=0.1

0.1 is the retention factor.
