Answer: higher energy than visible light. l

Explanation:

Electromagnetic wave is defined as the wave which is associated with both electrical and magnetic component associated with them. They can travel in vacuum as well and travel with the speed of light.

The Electromagnetic spectrum involves gamma rays , X rays, ultra violet rays, visible rays, infrared rays, micro waves and radio waves which are arranged in order of increasing wavelength and decreasing frequency.

The relationship between energy and wavelength of the wave follows the equation:

E=\frac{hc}{\lambda}

where,

E = Energy of the wave

c = speed of light

\lambda = wavelength of the wave

From the above relation, it is visible that wavelength and energy follow inverse relation. Thus the order of decreasing energy for waves is gamma rays , X rays, ultra violet rays, visible rays, infrared rays, micro waves and radio waves.

How much heat is required to melt 15.0 grams of ice at 0.0º C?
uysha [10]

The amount of heat required to melt 15.0 grams of ice at 0.0º C is<u> 4950 J.</u>

<h3>What is the amount of heat required to melt 15.0 grams of ice at 0.0º C?</h3>

The amount of heat required to melt 15.0 grams of ice at 0.0º C is calculated from the formula given below:

Amount of heat = mass * latent heat of fusion of ice

The latent heat of fusion is the amount of heat required to convert a unit mass of ice at 0.0º C to water at 0.0º C

The latent heat of fusion of ice is 330J/g

mass of ice = 15.0 g

Amount of heat required = 15.0 g * 330 J/g

Amount of heat required = 4950 J

If 5.0 grams of sucrose, C12H22O11, are dissolved in 10.0 grams of water, what will be the boiling point of the resulting soluti
GaryK [48]

Answer : The boiling point of the resulting solution is, 100.6^oC

Explanation :

Formula used for Elevation in boiling point :

\Delta T_b=i\times k_b\times m

or,

T_b-T^o_b=i\times k_b\times \frac{w_2\times 1000}{M_2\times w_1}

where,

T_b = boiling point of solution = ?

T^o_b = boiling point of water = 100^oC

k_b = boiling point constant  = 0.52^oC/m

m = molality

i = Van't Hoff factor = 1 (for non-electrolyte)

w_2 = mass of solute (sucrose) = 5.0 g

w_1 = mass of solvent (water) = 10.0 g

M_2 = molar mass of solute (sucrose) = 342.3 g/mol

Now put all the given values in the above formula, we get:

(T_b-100)^oC=1\times (0.52^oC/m)\times \frac{(5.0g)\times 1000}{342.3\times (10.0g)}

T_b=100.6^oC

Therefore, the boiling point of the resulting solution is, 100.6^oC

Wewaii [24]

Answer: 0.0450 moles of CaCl_2

Explanation:

According to avogadro's law, 1 mole of every substance weighs equal to its molecular mass and contains avogadro's number 6.023\times 10^{23} of particles.

To calculate the moles, we use the equation:

\text{Number of moles}=\frac{\text{Given mass}}{\text {Molar mass}}

\text{Number of moles of} CaCl_2=\frac{5.00g}{110.98g/mol}=0.0450moles

Thus there are 0.0450 moles of CaCl_2

1) Choose the correct statement from the options below.
Elena L [17]

<u>Answer:</u>

For 1: The correct answer is Option D.

For 2: The correct answer is Option A.

<u>Explanation:</u>

  • <u>For 1:</u>

Polar molecules are defined as the of molecules, in which two atoms that combine must be of different element and therefore can create a dipole. For a dipole, there must be a difference in electronegativity and that is achieved when two atoms of different electronegativity combine. The negative dipole or charge is created on the electronegative atom and positive dipole or charge is created on the electropositive atom.

Thus, the correct answer is option D.

  • <u>For 2:</u>

Non-polar molecules are defined as the molecules which are formed when two atoms of same element combine, so that a dipole cannot be created. When there is no dipole, there will be no difference in electronegativity and this is achieved when two atoms of same electronegativities combine.

Thus, the correct answer is A.
