Answer : The balanced chemical reaction will be,

2SO_2(g)+1O_2(s)\rightarrow 2SO_3(g)

16H_2S(g)+8O_2(s)\rightarrow 3SO_2(g)+16H_2O(g)

Explanation :

Balanced chemical reaction : It is defined as the number of atoms of individual elements present on reactant side must be equal to the product side.

(1) The given unbalanced chemical reaction is,

SO_2(g)+O_2(s)\rightarrow SO_3(g)

This chemical reaction is an unbalanced reaction because in this reaction, the number of atoms of oxygen are not balanced.

In order to balanced the chemical reaction, the coefficient 2 is put before SO_2 and SO_3.

Thus, the balanced chemical reaction will be,

2SO_2(g)+1O_2(s)\rightarrow 2SO_3(g)

(2) The given unbalanced chemical reaction is,

H_2S(g)+O_2(s)\rightarrow SO_2(g)+H_2O(g)

This chemical reaction is an unbalanced reaction because in this reaction, the number of atoms of oxygen are not balanced.

In order to balanced the chemical reaction, the coefficient 16 is put before H_2S and H_2O, the coefficient 8 is put before O_2 and the coefficient 3 is put before SO_2.

Thus, the balanced chemical reaction will be,

16H_2S(g)+8O_2(s)\rightarrow 3SO_2(g)+16H_2O(g)

In balancing reactions, it is important to remember that each of the side in the reaction should have the same number of elements. We do as follows:

2SO2(g) + O2(g) -> 2SO3(g)

H2S(g) + 3/2O2(g) -> SO2(g) + H2O(g)

Hope this answers the question. Have a nice day.

Two atoms of the same element having the same mass but different number of electrons
Mila [183]
Isotopes are the atoms of the same element with same atomic number but different mass number isotopes of same element have same chemical properties due to same number of electrons atomic number of an atom is the number of electrons protons in it and mass number is the sum of protons

What is the ph of a 3x10-8M H+ solution
Lelu [443]

Answer:

The pH of the solution is 7, 52

Explanation:

The pH gives us an idea of the acidity or alkalinity of a solution. Is calculated:

pH = -log (H +)

pH= -log ( 3x10-8)= 7, 52
