<u>The following are the evaluation steps in order for the 8 \times 3 \div\left(4^{2}-13\right)+5^{2}+4 \times 3 given expression:</u>

Step 1: First perform exponentiation inside parentheses

             4^{2}

Step 2: Next, evaluate the contents of parentheses

               (16 – 13)

Step 3: Before any multiplication or division, exponentiation outside parentheses should be done.

               5^{2}

Step 4: Perform multiplication and division from left to right

                8 \times 3

Step 5: Perform multiplication and division from left to right

              \frac{24}{3}

Step 6: Perform multiplication and division from left to right

                4 \times 3

Step 7: After all the multiplication and division, addition should be performed from left to right

                  (8 + 25)

Step 8: Perform addition from left to right

                    (33 + 12)

Answer: x° = 20

Steps:
100 + x + 3x = 180
x + 3x = 80
4x = 80
x = 80/4
x = 20

Check:
100 + x + 3x = 180
100 + 20 + 3(20) = 180
100 + 20 + 60 = 180
180 = 180 ✅

Question:

In a neighbourhood pet show, each of the animals entered is equally likely to win. if there are 7 dogs, 6 cats, 3 birds, and 2 gerbils entered, what is the probability that a bird will win the top prize?

Answer:

Probability that a bird will win the top prize is 0.167

Step-by-step explanation:

Given:

The number of  dogs  = 7

The number of  cats = 6

The number of  birds  = 3

The number of gerbils = 2

To Find:

Probability that a bird will win the top prize = ?

Solution:

Let us first find the total number of  pets .

The Total number of pets = 7 + 6 + 3  + 2 =  18

Now the probability of  a bird will win the top prize is

=> \frac{\text {Number of birds}}{\text{ Total number of pets}}

=>\frac{3}{18}

=> \frac{1}{6}

=>0.167
