A female candidate (Sarah Palin) was running for vice president, but this was not the first time, for example Geraldine Ferraro run for vice president in 1984.

It was significant because It marks the first time a major political party has nominated an African American for its presidential candidate. This candidate also later won and is today's president!

Which economic activity has largely driven development of modern Southeast Asian cities?
guapka [62]

Answer:

Vietnam - consists of primarily low=wage and low-skilled jobs

Singapore - has become a leading financial center

Malaysia - the world's leading producers of semiconductors

Explanation:

Southeast Asia is a very interesting region from every perspective, including the economy. Some nations are still oriented mostly toward agriculture, some depend on oil sales, some are financial centers. All in all, all of the nations in the region have seen significant development in the past couple of decades. Vietnam is still a country where the wages are low, and the majority of the labor force is low skilled, but the country still manages to have quick economic growth, mostly because of the foreign investments. Malaysia's economy is mostly consisted of two totally opposite economic sectors, one is the agriculture, and the other is the high-tech industry, both of which bring in a lot of income for the country. Singapore is a city-state. But despite its size, it has become an economic giant. The country is located in an excellent position, and its economy is mostly based around high-tech equipment, innovations, banking.

What do historians think Machu Picchu was mostly likely used for?
Tasya [4]

Answer:

MACHU PICCHU:

Archeologists sway much further towards the idea of Machu Picchu being primarily a religious site. The Temple of the Sun, the Room of the Three Windows and the Temple of the Intihuatana (believed to function as a solar calendar or clock) provide ample evidence of Machu Picchu’s religious importance. Whether the site was primarily a ceremonial center, however, is still subject to debate.

What did President Wilson think of the Big Stick policy and Dollar Diplomacy? Wilson wanted to base his foreign policy on them.
vova2212 [387]

Answer:

Wilson rejected both policies.

Explanation:

President Wilson reject both the Big Stick policy and Dollar Diplomacy.

The Big Stick policy was enacted by President Theodore Roosevelt and it was based on the theory that the United States could use force to maintain stability in Latin America. While,The Dollar Diplomacy policy was created during President William Howard tenure, it is a form of foreign policy to minimize the use or threat of military force but instead sought to address international problems by extending American investment overseas, believing that such activity would both benefit the US economy and promote stability abroad. However, during the Presidency of President Woodrow Wilson, he had a different vision and approach about the way the United States foreign policy should be applied. He promote and proposed a different policy called "Moral diplomacy" a form of foreign policy which support is given only to countries whose beliefs are analogous to that of the nation i.e supporting those countries considered allies to the United States to help them to grow as a nation.

Which of the following is the most engaging text with the most varied sentence structures? The experience of the new immigrants w
alexdok [17]
The correct answer is 1. By 1890, no more free land was available, so newcomers found jobs in city factories. They lived in crowded neighborhoods, where everyone shared a common language and culture.

This option has the most varied sentence structure. As you can see, there is inversion of word order in the sentence, there are independent and dependent sentences, short and long, so there is a certain variety that the other options seem to be lacking.
