Answer:

Return on investment=12.81%

Explanation:

Return on investment for a stock comprises of the capitals and dividend earned on the stock.

The capital gain is the difference between he cost of the shares when it was bought and the value when it is sold.

Capital gain = (24.50 -22)× 500= 1250

Dividend earned for a year = 0.32× 500 =160

Total return = 1250 + 160 =1,410

Total return = $1,410

Cost of the shares= 11,000

Return on investment = total return/cost of shares× 100

                                     =1,410 /11,000 × 100= 12.81

Return on investment=12.81%

Following is partial information for Delamunte Industries for the month of August: Work In Process Balance, August 1 $ 41,000 Di
xeze [42]

1. The calculation of the predetermined overhead rate applied to jobs during August is 75% of direct labor costs ($90,000/$120,000).

2. The balance in the Work in Process account at the end of August is $61,000.

3. The amounts of direct material cost and applied overhead recorded for Job 248 as of August 31 are $19,000 and $18,000, respectively.

Data and Calculations:

Work In Process Balance, August 1 $ 41,000

Direct materials used 75,000

Direct labor 120,000

Manufacturing overhead applied (based on direct labor cost) 90,000

Total costs incurred = $326,000

Finished Jobs during August:

Job # Cost of Jobs Completed

234 $ 58,000

237 65,000

231 74,500

246 67,500

Total costs of finished jobs = $265,000

Work in process balance = $61,000 ($326,000 - $265,000)

Job in Process: Job 248:

Direct labor cost incurred = $24,000

Applied overhead = $18,000 ($24,000 x 0.75)

Direct materials = $19,000 ($61,000 - $24,000 - $18,000)

Thus, the work-in-process balance represents Job 248 (Direct labor $24,000, Direct materials $19,000, and Applied Overhead $18,000).

The Grind coffee shop offers drink cards to purchasers of its gourmet coffees with ten spaces. The cashier punches one space wit
Vera_Pavlovna [14]

A unilateral contract
With each cup of coffee purchased, the cashier punches a space. The card can be used to redeem a free coffee once all ten spaces have been punched. This serves as an illustration of a unilateral contract.
-Unilateral contract - A unilateral contract
explicitly states that payment will only be provided in exchange for performance by one side. A prize or a competition is another illustration of a unilateral contract. In a unilateral contract, the offeror has the right to withdraw it prior to the offeree's commencement of performance. Usually, the revocation must be made in writing. An insurance policy contract, which is typically only partially unilateral, is an illustration of a unilateral contract. The offeror is the sole party having a contractual responsibility in a unilateral contract. Most unilateral agreements are one-sided.

What is the principle that justifies a regressive tax?
bixtya [17]

Answer:

Benefits-received principle

Explanation:

This principle says that the people who benefit most from government assistance programs should be the one to pay for them. Regressive taxes represent a higher portion of money for low income families, with the idea that it is okay because the government provides more services for low income families.
