Is barium nitrate more soluble in water than CH4 or the other way around?
kenny6666 [7]
Barium nitrate and methane (CH4) are both soluble. They both will dissolve in water, however, barium nitrate will dissociate becoming barium 2+ ions and nitrate becoming NO3 1- ions. All nitrates are soluble and dissociate. CH4 is a weak base and does dissolves but doesn't dissociate. So in solubility terms.... they are both equally soluble just one happens to dissociate into its cations and anions. Hope this helps!

How do scientists classify intrusive igneous features? according to shape, texture, and their distance from the nearest volcanic
Nataliya [291]

according to shape, size, and their relationship to surrounding layers of rock

Explanation:

Scientists classify intrusive features according to their shape, size and relationship to surrounding layers of rocks.

Intrusive igneous features are the sills, di/kes, batholith, laccoiith, lopolith e.t.c

  • When magma cools and solidifies within the earth crust, they form intrusive igneous rocks.
  • Intrusive igneous rocks differs from one another in their shape, size and relationship to surrounding rocks.
  • For example, batholith is a large intrusive body that extends for several kilometers in the earth surface.
  • Sills and di/kes are smaller bodies. Sills forms parallel to orientation of rocks in an area. Di/kes are known to cut across the orientation.

Why is water displacement an effective way of measuring the volume of an irregular solid?
icang [17]

Answer:

There is no way of finding the volume of an irregular shape.

We cant find the volume of an irregular solid because we can never measure the volume of curves that are present in an irregularly shaped object. so we tend to place this irregular object in a beaker of water so that the volume of water displaced by it will actually show us the volume of object itself. And now we can conclude that water displacement is an effective way of measuring the volume of an irregular solid there is no way of finding the volume of an irregular shape.
