Multiple first to get 568.567

nearest cent would be the hundredths place which is a 6, look to the right, it's a 7 (rule 5 or more round up, 4 or less keep number)  the 7 is above 5

so it becomes 568.57

Graph a parabola whose x-intercepts are at x=-3 and x=5 and whose minimum value is y=-4
docker41 [41]

Answer:

(See explanation for further details)

Step-by-step explanation:

The standard equation of the parabola is:

y + 4 = C \cdot (x-k)^{2}

The formula is now expanded into a the form of a second-order polynomial:

y + 4 = C\cdot x^{2} -2\cdot C\cdot k \cdot x +C\cdot k^{2}

y = C\cdot x^{2} - (2\cdot C \cdot k) \cdot x + (C\cdot k^{2}-4)

The general equation of the second-order polynomial is:

x = \frac{2\cdot C \cdot k \pm \sqrt{4\cdot C^{2}\cdot k^{2}-4\cdot C\cdot (C\cdot k^{2}-4)}}{2\cdot C}

x = k \pm \frac{\sqrt{C^{2}\cdot k^{2}-C^{2}\cdot k^{2}+4\cdot C}}{C}

x = k \pm 2\cdot \frac{\sqrt{C}}{C}

x = k \pm \frac{2}{\sqrt{C}}

The equations to be solved are presented herein:

-3 = k -\frac{2}{\sqrt{C}}

5 = k + \frac{2}{\sqrt{C}}

Now, the solution of the system is:

-3 +\frac{2}{\sqrt{C}} = 5 -\frac{2}{\sqrt{C}}

\frac{4}{\sqrt{C}} = 8

\sqrt{C} = \frac{1}{2}

C = \frac{1}{4}

k = 5 - \frac{2}{\sqrt{\frac{1}{4} }}

k = 1

The equation of the parabola is:

y = \frac{1}{4}\cdot (x-1)^{2} -4

Lastly, the graphic of the function is included as attachment.

1/2x+4=20 solve for x.. Help?
hichkok12 [17]

Answer: 32

Step-by-step explanation: ok so here is what i do for those I grab a caculator (desmos online caculator i like to use but not required) then ill do (1/2×x)+4 but then once i write that i go back to the x delete the x and keep putting random numbers in higher and higher by one till the i get the answer (example: for this one i wrote that than i removed the x in it and did 1/2×5+4 then when that did not equal 20 i turned the 5 into a 6 then 6 was wrong so 7, then 8, then i just skipped to 20 then 20 was still wrong so skipped to 30, 30 was also wrong but CLOSE so then i tried 31 then 32 till the answer was 20 and when i did 32 it did say 20) hopes this helps

Harman [31]

Mary added $24 \frac{1}{2} cups of sugar.

<h3>How to estimate how much sugar should Mary add?</h3>

The ratio of flour to sugar exists at 9 cups: 2 4/7 cups

Utilizing equivalent ratios, given that 7 cups of sugar was utilized,

Let cups of flour needed = x such that our equation becomes

flour/sugar$ =\frac{9}{2\frac{4}{7} }=\frac{x}{7}

$ \frac{9}{2\frac{4}{7} }=\frac{x}{7}

Convert mixed numbers into improper fractions

$2 \frac{4}{7}= \frac{18}{7}

simplifying the above equation, we get

$\frac{9}{\frac{18}{7} } = \frac{x}{7}

= $24 \frac{1}{2}

x = 24.5

The value of x = 24.5.

Therefore, $24 \frac{1}{2} cups of sugar exist required.
