Answer:

<em>x=-14</em>

Step-by-step explanation:

The x-intercept of a line is the value of x that makes y=0.

A line can be expressed in its slope-intercept form:

y=mx+b

Once determined the equation of the line, the x-intercept can be calculated by setting y=0 and solving for x.

Let's find the slope of the line.

Suppose we know the line passes through two points A(x1,y1) and B(x2,y2). The slope can be calculated with the equation:

\displaystyle m=\frac{y_2-y_1}{x_2-x_1}

Let's pick the first two points of the table (-94,24) (-74,18). The slope is:

\displaystyle m=\frac{18-24}{-74+94}=\frac{-6}{20}=-\frac{3}{10}

The equation of the line is:

\displaystyle y=-\frac{3}{10}x+b

Now use one of the points to find b, for example (-94,24):

\displaystyle 24=-\frac{3}{10}\cdot (-94)+b

Operating:

\displaystyle 24=\frac{141}{5}+b

Solving:

b=24-\frac{141}{5}=-\frac{21}{5}

The complete equation of the line is:

\displaystyle y=-\frac{3}{10}x-\frac{21}{5}

To find the x-incercept, set y=0 and solve:

\displaystyle 0=-\frac{3}{10}x-\frac{21}{5}

\displaystyle x=\frac{\frac{21}{5}}{-\frac{3}{10}}=-\frac{21}{5}\cdot \frac{10}{3}

x=-14

How do you find the hypotenuse of a right triangle when you have 2 angles (1 being the 90 degrees since it is a right triangle)
stiks02 [169]
Find the length of the hypotenuse by using either "sine" or "cosine".

Sine= Length of opposite side/ Hypotenuse

Cosine= Length of adjacent side/ Hypotenuse

In order to use one of these, it depends on which angle they give you other than 90 degrees.

Hope this helps!

A construction company uses the function f(p) where p is the number of people working on a project to model the amount of money
Jlenok [28]

Answer:

Domain of f(p) =  [0,∞), where it belongs to whole numbers only

Step-by-step explanation:

The domain is the set of all possible values of independent variable for which function is defined

As in the given function f(p), we have the independent variable p. As p is the number of people working on the project, so it means either the number of people could be 0 or it could be anything greater than 0,  like it could be equal to thousand or ten thousand, but it can not be fraction in any case.

So, the domain is set of whole numbers starting from 0.

Domain of f(p) = [0,∞)
