<u>Giv</u><u>en</u><u> that</u><u> </u><u>:</u><u>-</u><u> </u>

  • x = 4y +3

  • y = -2x -3

<u>To</u><u> </u><u>Find</u><u> </u><u>:</u><u>-</u><u> </u>

  • Value of x.y

<u>Solu</u><u>tion</u><u> </u><u>:</u><u>-</u><u> </u>

→ x = 4y + 3 equation 1st

→ y = -2x -3 equation 2nd .

Now putting the value of x from first equation to second equation.

→ y = -2(4y +3 ) -3

→ y = -8y - 6 - 3

→ y + 8y = -9

→ 9y = -9

→ y = -1

Now putting the value of y in equation first .

→ x = 4(-1) + 3

→ x = -4 + 3

→ x = -1

Now multiply and X and y.

→ x.y = -1(-1)

→ x.y = 1 .

\huge {\bold {\star {\fcolorbox {black} {yellow} {Answer}}}}

<h3>Given, </h3>

  • x = 4y + 3 ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ i
  • y = -2x - 3⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ii

<h3>To find;</h3>

  • The value of xy

<h2>{\boxed{\red{\underline{\sf{Solution:}}}}}</h2>

Putting the value of x in ii, we get ;

➝ y = - 2(4y+3) - 3

➝ y = - 8y - 6 - 3

➝ y = - 8y - 9

➝ y + 8y = - 9

➝ 9y = - 9

∴ y = - 1

Putting the value of y in i, we get ;

➝ x = 4y + 3

➝ x = 4(-1) + 3

➝ x = - 4 + 3

∴ x = - 1

<h3>Now, </h3>

➛ xy = (- 1)(-1)

⛬ xy = 1

Time intervals measured with a stopwatch typically have an uncertainty of about 0.2 seconds, due to human reaction time at the s
Yakvenalex [24]

Answer:

a) 2,650%

b) 27,400%

c) 164,900%

Step-by-step explanation:

We want to measure the percentage we would have to increase the typical value to obtain the values given in a), b) and c).

But 0.2 increased in x% equals

0.2 + 0.2(x/100) =0.2(1+x/100)

So, if we want to increase 0.2 in x%, we must multiply it by (1+x/100)

a)

We need to find the value of x such that

0.2(1+x/100) = 5.5 ⇒ (1+x/100)=5.5/0.2 ⇒  1+x/100=27.5

⇒  x/100=26.5 ⇒ x=2,650%

b)

0.2(1+x/100) = 55 ⇒ (1+x/100)=55/0.2 ⇒  1+x/100=275

⇒  x/100=274 ⇒ x=27,400%

c)

5.5 min = 5.5*60 s = 330

0.2(1+x/100) = 330 ⇒ (1+x/100)=330/0.2 ⇒  1+x/100=1,650

⇒  x/100=1,649 ⇒ x=164,900%

-7/8 - (-h) = -7/12<br> solve for h<br> pls show work
Westkost [7]

Answer:

The answer is 7/24.

Step-by-step explanation:

I attached a picture, but I'll try to walk through it here.

1) A negative and a negative makes a positive, so h becomes positive.

2) I added 7/8 to both sides, in order to "isolate the variable", which simply means to get h by itself, on one side of the equation (you'll likely hear it said both ways).

3) I multiplied 7/8 by 3/3, and multiplied -7/12 by 2/2. This is known as a common denominator, which in this case is 24. You can only add and subtract fractions that have a common denominator.

4) Multiply both of the fractions to get 21/24 + (-14/24). "Adding a negative" is the same thing as subtracting.

5) 21 - 14 = 7, and since our denominators are the same, the answer is 7/24.

You can confirm the answer by substituting, or "plugging" 7/24 into your original equation, in place of h.

Evaluate the limit (picture)
Ilya [14]

<em>π</em> ≈ 3.14 > 2, so the second piece is the relevant one:

\displaystyle \lim_{x\to\pi}f(x) = \lim_{x\to\pi}\sin(x) = \sin(\pi) = \boxed{0}
