Let number of answers correctly given by Tom = x

Number of Incorrect answers = 10

Marks given to Tim for every correct answer = 4 Marks

Marks for incorrect answer= 0

Total Score = 76

The equation , when all the above statement are combined together

→4 x + 10 × 0 = 76

→ 4 x = 76

x = 19

Number of Right Answers = 19

Number of Wrong Answer= 10

Total Question = 19 + 10= 29

Solve this Equation :

Here "q" is the number of correct answer.

4(q-10)=76

divide both sides by 4

1/4*4(q-10)=76/4

q-10=19

q-10+10=19+10

add 10 to both sides

q=29

So Tim answers correct to 29 questions.
