In what way did the nation's growing transportation system help promote economic growth

Answer:

Lowering costs and expanding the consumer market

Explanation:

The development of a transportation system in the country has helped to promote economic growth in two ways: by reducing the costs of products and by allowing the expansion of the consumer market of each product.

Transportation expenses are part of a company's cost structure. When the transportation system is inefficient or underdeveloped, it is expensive to transport the goods. These costs are transferred to prices, reducing competitiveness and the demand for goods and services. After the improvements in transportation, the supply of goods and services became more efficient.

In addition, before the development of the transport network, some goods could only be sold in local communities. After the development of the transport system, goods could be offered in other cities and even exported to another country.
